"Data Analysis" in the broadest sense is the general term for a field of activities of ever-increasing importance in a time called the information age. It covers new
areas with such trendy labels as, e.g., data mining or web mining as well as traditional directions emphazising, e.g., classification or knowledge organization. Leading researchers in data analysis have contributed to this volume and delivered papers on aspects ranging from scientific modeling to practical application. They have devoted their latest contributions to a book edited to honor a colleague and friend, Hans-Hermann Bock, who has been active in this field for nearly thirty years.

The book is now available in a revised second edition that takes into account the current technological developments, including camera technology and color imaging processing. It gives a hands-on guide for setting up automated visual inspection systems using real-world examples and the NeuroCheck® standard software that has proven industrial strength integrated in thousands of applications in real-world production lines. Based on many years of experience in industry, the authors explain all the essential details encountered in the creation of vision system installations. With example material and a demo version of the software found on "extras.springer.com" readers can work their way through the described inspection tasks and carry out their own experiments. Computational Electromagnetics / Carsten Carstensen (2003)
Titre : Computational Electromagnetics : recent advances and engineering applications Type de document : texte imprime Auteurs : Carsten Carstensen ; Carsten Carstensen Editeur : Berlin : Springer Année de publication : 2003 Importance : 209 p. Présentation : ill. Format : 24 cm ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-3-540-44392-6 Langues : Anglais Mots-clés : Computer-aided design Résumé :
Emerging Topics in Computational Electromagnetics in Computational Electromagnetics presents advances in Computational Electromagnetics. This book is designed to fill the existing gap in current CEM literature that only cover the conventional numerical techniques for solving traditional EM problems. The book examines new algorithms, and applications of these algorithms for solving problems of current interest that are not readily amenable to efficient treatment by using the existing techniques. The authors discuss solution techniques for problems arising in nanotechnology, bioEM, metamaterials, as well as multiscale problems. They present techniques that utilize recent advances in computer technology, such as parallel architectures, and the increasing need to solve large and complex problems in a time efficient manner by using highly scalable algorithms.
The contributions in this book by leading international experts in the field of electromagnetic field computation cover a wide area of contemporary research activities. They clearly underline the important role of modeling, analysis and numerical methods to provide powerful tools for the simulation of electromagnetic phenomena. The main topics range from the mathematical analysis of Maxwell's equations including its proper spatial discretizations (edge elements, boundary element methods, finite integration), and efficient iterative solution techniques (multigrid, domain decomposition) to multiscale aspects in micromagnetics. The reader will get acquainted with many facets of modern computational techniques and its applications to relevant problems in electromagnetism.Permalink : ./index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=9842 Computational Electromagnetics : recent advances and engineering applications [texte imprime] / Carsten Carstensen ; Carsten Carstensen . - Berlin : Springer, 2003 . - 209 p. : ill. ; 24 cm.
